Excavation and Papal Blessing
The journey began with the blessing and patronage of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II. Deep excavation and soil stabilization then commenced in preparation for the foundations and the construction of a cultural institution worthy of Alexandria's heritage and stature.
Foundations and Concrete Structure
The reinforced concrete foundations were completed, followed by the construction of the structural framework, including columns and slabs across all floors, in accordance with rigorous safety and engineering standards.
Masonry and Brickwork
Work is currently underway on the internal and external walls and the architectural divisions of the halls and offices, bringing the Center's form and character into clearer view.
Utilities and Infrastructure
This phase covers plumbing, electrical, and ventilation systems, together with fire protection, safety systems, and central air conditioning.
Finishing and Painting
The final architectural and aesthetic touches, including plasterwork, painting, and interior and exterior finishes that reflect the Center's Coptic identity and authentic Alexandrian character.
Furnishing and Equipment
Equipping the halls, library, and museum with modern educational and office furniture, together with the technology and systems needed to support the Center's activities.
Official Opening
The final stage, when the Center opens its doors as a home for culture, knowledge, art, and community life in the heart of Alexandria.
